Apple iPhone Apps
Recently, people have asked me what apps I use on my iPhone. Here are my top ten favorite applications:
Around Me (free) – Using the GPS on the 3G, it looks for the nearest points of interest such as gas stations, banks, food, parks, etc.
Shazam (free)- If you ever here on song on the radio and you like it but didn’t hear who the artist was, Shazaam will listen to a small segment of the song then tell you who sang it. This is really cool.
Pandora (free)- Pandora radio is the personalized Internet radio service that helps you find new music based on your old and current favorites.
Tweetie (2.99) – This is great Twitter app. If you Tweet then Tweetie is no brainer. Unlike the free, twitter apps this one supports multiple accounts.
WordPress (free) – This is great, it allows you to post directly into WordPress without having to go to your site.
myLite Flashlight (free) – There are a number of flash light apps. myLite has a nice control panel for special effects including rock concert effect which looks like a zippo lighter.
Dictionary (free) – If you need to look up a spelling or meaning of a word this handy pocket dictionary will save the day.
Motion X GPS (4.99) – This is just a cool GPS Gadget aimed at the hikers, bikers and outdoor enthusiasts. My favorite component is the GPS Stopwatch. It measures how fast you are going and distance traveled. There is a free version that works just as well.
WeatherBug (free) - Both Weather.com and Accuweather have nice iPhone Apps but the Weatherbug app navigates the way I would expect an iPhone to app work.
Evernote (free) – By far the most useful of the iPhone Apps, it can take a picture, recorded a meeting and take notes. It will then sync with your Evenote account (a free cloud service). Evernote also has desktop apps for windows and macs. I could write a whole article about how great Evernote is; the iPhone is just frosting on the cake.
