Highly Suggested WordPress Plugins

As some know, I use WordPress for the back-end of my site and for most of the sites that  I build these days.  WordPress is great by itself but the power lies in plugins, so I put together a list of plugins that I use and suggest to others they would want to consider.

Why I use WordPress

WordPess Logo

Many people know WordPress as blogging platform and when comes to blogging I believe it fits the bill for 99% of them.  However, WordPress has so much more to offer.  Under the hood lies a very power CMS (content management system).  There are very few situations in which WordPress does not work; from simple to fully interactive sites, WordPress does a fantastic job.

I won’t bore you with specifics; So here is my short list of why I love WordPress.

  1. It has one of the most elegant administration interfaces of all the CMS’s I’ve tried.
  2. It has a strong development community that includes many great plugins to extend the functionality.
  3. There are many free themes for WordPress and well-supported commercial themes at reasonable prices.
  4. It has a great user community of techies and non-techies alike.
  5. It is SEO friendly. Search engines seem to love WordPress
  6. It’s free to use.

In the end, big thanks to Matt Mullenweg for creating WordPress, sharing it free with the world and furthering the advancement of open source applications.
